Doodle 4 Google Winner Awarded $30,000 Scholarship & Spot On Google’s Homepage

Today’s Google logo is an illustration by eleven-year old Audrey Azhang, this year’s Doodle 4 Google winner.
In response to the question, “What would you invent to make the world a better place?” more than 100,000 Google Doodle contest entries were received from students in grades K – 12.
Azhang told Google:
To make the world a better place, I invented a transformative water purifier. It takes in dirty and polluted water from rivers, lakes, and even oceans, then massively transforms the water into clean, safe and sanitary water, when humans and animals drink this water, they will live a healthier life.
Besides have her illustration featured on Google’s homepage, Azhang was awarded a $30,000 college scholarship and $50,000 Google for Education technology grant for her school.
Azhang’s winning entry also earned a $20,000 donation from Google.org given in her name to charity:water, a non-profit that helps provide clean water to schools in Bangladesh.
