Google has announced a partnership with six delivery providers across the United States, which will help facilitate a new service Google is offering within its search results.
“Whether you’re craving deep dish pizza or pad thai, starting today you can order food from some of your favorite restaurants directly from Google search results.”
When US residents search for nearby restaurants they will now see an option to “Place an order” right there in the search results pages.
Just tap to place an order, choose your preferred delivery service, and get directed to their website to complete the order.
Google’s delivery partners currently include the following companies:
- Seamless
- Grubhub
- Eat24
- Delivery.com
- BeyondMenu
- MyPizza.com
More delivery providers will potentially be added in the future as Google looks to expands its offerings.
In addition, Google has also rolled out the ability for searchers to book appointments and make reservations from within the SERPs.
If you’re a local business and would like to ensure you’re taking advantage of this feature, there’s nothing extra you should have to do beyond making sure the feature is enabled in your Google My Business dashboard.
This Google help center article states that links to place an order or book an appointment will appear automatically for eligible businesses. There’s not currently a way to request this service for your business.
